OMEGA ACCESS CONTROL PROJECT

Canberra Hospital

The Client

The new Adult Mental Health Unit at Canberra Hospital has been designed to create an environment that provides people with hope, choice, privacy and personal space.

The Challenge

To provide a keyless locking operation utilising Anti-Ligature furniture.

The Solution

The advanced Salto Access Control system on a wireless platform, Omega Security Solutions installed this project utilising the Dortrend Anti Ligature furniture by Woodpend.

This product was developed and specified by Woodpend and is the first installation of it’s kind.

This application looks set to revolutionise the mental health sector and has proven yet again that no challenge, however unique, is too hard.

Other distinguishing features of this project were the use of RFID wristbands for the patients – no keys, no cards, just a non obtrusive wristband which allows them to lock their room and access various patient areas within the facility.
